Why Choose Hybrid
Heat?
We do not sell geothermal
systems. In our opinion, the extra cost does not pay for itself.
With a geothermal, even if you would save $20 a month year round it
would take well over 30 years to pay for the difference; not
counting if the geothermal would need costly repairs! What we
do offer is a hybrid system that uses both gas and electric.
Geothermal is always compared to
inefficient gas furnaces when comparing its savings to a traditional
system. Hybrid systems are almost as efficient as a geothermal
for probably half the initial cost!
Gas/Electric
Choice (Hybrid)
A hybrid system gets the
same special electric rates as geothermal. This is 1/2 the cost
of the regular rate! A hybrid heat pump will run at temperatures
above 20 degrees where it is 200-300% efficient.
Below 20 degrees the gas furnace will run- or if the heat pump can't
keep up with the demand our hybrid system determines the best time to
switch over according to run time, heat output, home temperature, and
outside temperature. This ensures no lack of hot air in the
winter.
When electric rates go up, you will
already have a choice on which fuel to use. Just switch your
thermostat for gas or electric!
What do I need
for a Hybrid?
A hybrid can possibly be
installed onto your existing furnace (if it is compatible). In
this case, you won't have to buy a new gas furnace (saving even more
on the installation cost!).
